In ubuntu, I have been using sound juicer and I assume that K3B is intended to operate in a similar fashion. I understand that Dolphin can be used, but the process is convoluted. This is a real issue to which I have not seen a solution, so any help would be much appreciated. Click on Rip settings and select More options. Search for it in the start menu by clicking the search or the windows icon and typing Windows Media Player. I will doubtless have other questions, which I'll ask through separate posts. What is the best way to rip a CD Insert the CD into your computer. I am comfortable using a terminal if that's required, but I get a sense that part of what KDE is about is to avoid the terminal as much as possible. There is no FLAC encoder plugin - just Orb ,which I'm not interested in, since I strongly prefer a lossless format - disk space is not an issue.Ĭould someone please provide me with step-by-step instructions on how to do this?
The one issue that I have not been able to solve is to configure K3B so that I can rip a CD to FLAC. It is a steep learning curve, and I've been able to get most of the basics in place - sound is a nightmare. I am interested in trying out Kubuntu 14.04 - the desktop is intriguing. I've been using ubuntu for several years - including the Unity Interface.
